What is a Reinvention Specialist?

My Story

When the Pandemic hit in 2020, the world changed. And so did I. As a successful career, media, and image consultant for over 20 years, I was tapped to join a large consulting firm to coach the onslaught of people who were being laid-off. I took the job, followed the protocols, and observed how a formulaic approach to job search left many people floundering. I knew something critical was missing. While practical tools like resumes, LinkedIn profiles and targeted marketing campaigns were essential components to job search, the more I dug into my clients’ inner lives, the more I discovered the path to job transition success. So many “successful” people were working in uninspiring jobs. They had chosen paths based on practicality alone, rather than following their deepest interests and dreams. Facing job loss offered people a chance to reassess and analyze their lives and their choices. As we worked to unveil their truest yearnings, we found patterns and threads that wove together to clearly define a new career direction. I saw my clients become happier, more confident, hopeful. Their personal marketing materials began to reflect who they were as people, instead of random collections of accomplishments. And they started landing interviews and fielding job offers that combined their skill sets with their personal values and passions. I knew I was on to something much bigger than career coaching. I was helping people reinvent themselves by excavating their history, reassembling the artifacts of their lives, and discovering unimaginable treasure. The right position is out there. It just takes some creative collaboration to define your story and share it in a way that brings you the financial wholeness you need while also fulfilling the internal purpose that drives your soul.
